Add your ORCID so the people you meet know you're a real researcher. It's a public identifier, it lives in your local config, and it only rides along if you choose to include it.
A good room starts with a good /wonder. Describe the question you're stuck on, not your whole CV; choose keywords another scientist would actually search for; say what you're looking for and what you can offer. Specific beats broad — low-data protein structure finds your people; machine learning doesn't.
Rooms are small and on-topic. Lead with what you're actually wondering about, be generous with half-formed ideas, and assume everyone here is real and busy. Rooms are disposable — they fade when the conversation does, so say the useful thing now.
